1. He loves sleeping with his hands beside his head or in his mouth.
2. He falls asleep best when swaddled and put in his crib not in the swing or the bouncer.
3. He loves looking at faces especially his dads.
4. He is content when he's full.
5. He loves cuddling and being kissed all over his face (except by Bentley)
We are savoring every moment since we've heard it goes by fast!!! He is precious and we love him a lot.
There have been several nicknames given to him, all of which wont last long but are fun to use now: Punky (mainly when he's fussy), Sweet Cheeks (mainly when mom is kissing him) and Pumpkin head. Who knows where these nicknames have come from but mom loves using them!
Bentley is doing great with him. The crying doesn't faze him but the other noises causes his head to tilt out of curiosity.
We had our first doctor's appointment last Monday and it went really well. We were told that because he had gained so much weight in the last two weeks that we could let him sleep longer at night so 4-5 hours rather than 2-3. That was good news to hear. His lowest weight was 5 lbs 13 oz at the hospital (babies tend to lose weight after they are born and then the doctors want them back to their birth weight by two weeks) Harrison weighed 6 lbs 11 oz at his appointment. He hadn't grown in length but that wasn't a concern.
This might be a little too much information for some of you but it's something we are really excited about. Harrison moved from hour long feedings to 20 minutes. Nursing is now much easier. Everyone says just get to the two week point and for us, it's true.
We are staying at home for a few more weeks. The doctor overly emphasized with us the importance of staying away from sick people because of H1N1. Our doctor seems to be a pretty cool laid back kind of guy but when it came to this virus he was pretty serious. He said that I have the immunities for everything else and I pass those to Harrison but because I have never been exposed to H1N1 then neither has Harrison and if he gets a temperature over 100.4 they automatically admit him into the hospital for several days, do a spinal tap, etc. So we have to be careful. People can come over here but there will be little going out over the next few weeks.
Well, that's it for now. Back to doing some more laundry!
