Harrison is now making all sorts of different noises besides crying. He's cooing and grunting and squeeking. He also makes this sound that also might come from a small horse, weird. Nathan thinks Harrison is up to 8 pounds now but I'm not so sure or maybe my arms are just adjusting well. He is growing out of the newborn size though so he's definitely growing.
We've gone on several adventures over the last several weeks. We've been to church three times now. The first time not as successful as the last two. The key is feeding him right before church and being a little late to church because of it. Our church has a back left section that is filled with baby strollers. Last I counted there were seven babies, 6 which were born within a month of each other. There are several more babies arriving in January and February. Yesterday we visited the LDC for the first time and everyone was excited to see him. Then I took him to a co-worker/friend's bridal shower and all the ladies loved him. I got to introduce him to several of my favorite students too. It was so good to see them and be reminded of why I'm going back to work in a few months. It feels so good to get out!
We sold the Volvo this week. It turned out to be too small of a car for us. We've missed the Pathfinder terribly so we've decided to replace the Volvo with another SUV, a Jeep Cherokee.
Many people have asked if Harrison is sleeping through the night yet. I've been told it's a good idea to make sure that he doesn't go without eating for more than 5 hours at nigh until he's 8 weeks old so most nights he falls asleep at 9 wakes up at 12 and then goes back to sleep until 4 than up again at 6:30 so I'm only up twice a night to feed him which is just fine. Honestly, the 6:30 feeding has been the hardest for me. Were praying he sleeps 8 hours come 8 weeks but I've also been told that because of his low birth weight it may be more like 12 weeks. He;s been great though at being "scheduled" and it's been nice because then we know how to plan our day.
Okay, enough writing. Here are some pictures. A friend of mine (she's wonderful!) took some "professional" photos for us too so when I get those I'll post them soon.
It's a long story but Harrison's mouth is purple b/c of an infection he and I got. I wanted to share this picture b/c his medicine stained his mouth for days and the medicine also stained his pack and play, our carpet and my white night stand. Nathan forgot to put the cap back on, whoops! But he was adorable and pitiful looking so I had to share the pictures with all of you.
