Crankipants

It's official. Harrison has hit the fussy/cranky stage. He eats well, is fully alert when he's awake but hates falling asleep during the day. It typically take about 30 minutes of crying/fussying before he gives in. Trying to sooth him doesn't even work. It's not all out whaling and crying it's just fussyness. So that's been a lot of fun :)

Here's a list of some new findings in the life of the Jones':
  • Harrison loves his pacifier.
  • He's grown out of new born clothes and is now into the 0-3 month clothes.
  • He LOVES stretching out his little arms and legs. He kicks and grabs at the air.
  • He's starting to make more sounds. He coos every once in a while and grunts.
  • He gets frustrated easily at tummy time. He can lift his head and turn it but only after he grunts/whimpers. I think he gets this part of his personality from me. He can only take about 10 minutes at a time.
  • He really likes music. Not the horrible piano music that comes with his mobile and swing. He likes good music, something preferably from my ipod.
  • He's a great night sleeper. His first night time feeding is at 8:30 pm or 9 and then he'll wake up after 4 to 5 hours to eat, go right back to sleep, wake back up in 3 hours and then goes right back to sleep, then up again by 6:30 am to eat and start the day. He doesn't fuss at all. I say that now, watch it will all change tonight...
  • He loves his gym and crib mobile.
  • He's trying to smile but not an official one yet.
  • Bentley is officially a guard dog. His growl and bark has gotten fiercer. When he spots a dog out our sliding glass door he become ferocious.
  • I've left Harrison a few times with dad and a bottle. Once to get my hair done, another time to go to Bible study. Both times went really well. Nathan is such a good dad and Harrison loves spending time with him.
  • Every time I think about picking up the phone to call a friend while Harrison is napping he wakes up... So I'll have to plan my phone conversations when Nathan is around. Probably the evenings.
  • We officially sold the Volvo and purchased a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. It's so much easier to get Harrison's car seat in and out of it. I can't believe how heavy his car seat is!
  • I'm cooking now, believe it or not. This week I've made an angel hair pasta dish, ribs, banana bread and pork loin. Three dinners in one week, that's a record for me! Nathan's amazed.
  • Harrison loves being rocked in his chair while starring at the pictures of family behind it.
  • He doesn't mind a bath at all.
  • He's able to follow us with his eyes. He's not too fond of us getting our faces too close because he likes to watch us so being about 10 inches away or more is a good distance for him.
  • He loves light. He always looks towards a light in a room whether it's a window or a lamp.
  • He gets the hiccups pretty easily especially if he's full.
  • He loves peeing on daddy when his diaper is getting changed. It's pretty much a daily occurrence. It's only happened once to me :)
Well, that's it for now! This weekend I think we are headed to a pumpkin patch so we'll send pictures after that! I bought him a little outfit, I can't wait to put it on him. We'll also send pictures of the Cherokee soon too.

Also I cut maybe 6 inches off of my hair. Here's a picture of Harrison and I before going to test drive Jeeps.

I think he's thinking to himself, these parents of mine are crazy!

I think he was startled by the flash in this one.
