Part II

Part II - What Harrison's been up to (I like bullet points):

He's grown so much (it's bitter sweet)!
  • 19lbs and 28.5 inches long.
  • Has two more teeth coming in. Two top but the second over so not the two top in the front... It seems a bit odd to me :)
  • I no longer need to wake him at 10 so that he sleeps til 6. He now sleeps from 6:30pm to 6:00am.
  • Gets bored easily now and lets you know loud and clear when he is.
  • Loves to eat puffs b/c he loves to feed himself.
  • Getting the hang of a sippy cup.
  • Rolling around everywhere (started to roll more while mom was here)
  • Can scoot himself backwards to get somewhere and he can scoot a whole circle but not forward yet.
  • Goes from a sitting position onto his arms and rocks. He got his legs up under himself today but then fell over. It was cute. I held my breath while I was watching him.
  • When he wakes up from a nap he plays in his crib and waits for us to come get him.
  • He loves it when we splash his water during bath time. He laughs and laughs.
  • He laughs when we clap, smack our lips, snap our fingers, wave bye bye, dance funny or make funny faces.
  • He loves daddy's teeth right now.
  • He's strong. When I put him in any chair he sits himself up, when I recline it he fights me before he sits back.
  • He isn't afraid to express his emotions. He gets frustrated with his inability to get somewhere or to something he wants.
  • He still loves faces.
  • His favorite song is patty cake especially when I make him do the hand motions.
  • He's eating egg yolks and tofu right now which are much chewier then the pureed food.
  • Still loves books. Wants to hold them and touch them. Throws a tantrum if he can't (yes he now throws tantrums) Tries to turn the pages but can't get a grip on them yet.
  • Loves using his pincher fingers. Anything small like a button or tag he loves to go for. he watches his fingers as he fiddles with whatever is in them.
  • He focuses on one sound for a few days at a time. This week he sounds like a raptor (dinosaur if you didn't know). He makes this long screechy sound that changes pitches. He'll do it for 3 to 5 seconds. He's also starting to combine syllables.
  • Every time I say no about something he smiles really big (this should be fun...)
  • He's spoiled rotten.
  • He LOVES going for a walk in his stroller. He gets really excited.
  • He likes to kick off of everything.
  • He tries his best to grab the clicker, our cell phones and the lap top anytime we are using them.
  • He used to be able to sleep in his car seat when we were at a restaurant or a friends house. Now he wakes up as soon as the car stops and he gets very angry if we try and keep him in it while we're somewhere. He would rather sit up in his stroller then in the car seat.
  • He still takes two to three naps. If he doesn't take a third it's a long four hours between 2-6 or 3-7.
  • there have been a few different nights where we have stayed out with him past his bed time. We take along his pack and play and most of the time he falls right asleep. It's great! I don't know how much longer we will be able to get him to do that though.
All around Harrison is such a blast. We love hanging out with him. I miss him whenever I'm away from him. There are some trying times. Last weekend his top teeth were really get to him so he was whining constantly for three days. Once we got through that, life got better.

Nathan is such a great dad. He's patient and he steps in when he notices that I'm exhausted and just can't function anymore. It's amazing how many more dishes there are when you eat at home and how much more laundry there is when there's three people!

If I think about anything else I'll be sure to blog about it :)
