16 Weeks on Tuesday

In two days I will be at 16 weeks. Here is what I currently look like. You may notice a little bit of a baby bump. Not much, but enough for me to go out and get my first pair and only pair of maternity jeans yesterday. I'm wearing them in this picture.
Now you may be thinking the same thing everyone who passes me in the grocery store is thinking, "wow that girl needs to wear loser clothes, she's a got a chubby tummy". May I say to you and all of them, yes, I used to have a chubby tummy but believe me, this is a new kind of chubby. This is a real live baby bump that is growing week by week.

We should have shared this a while ago but here is the ultrasound that was taken when I was at 9 weeks. Notice the white dot in the middle of the black hole, thats Tiny Jones.

So, today we went out and bought our first baby item. I know, it's early to be buying baby things but hear us out (and by US I mean Nathan wasn't dragged into this decision, he was as much about buying it as I was). Since the 9 week appointment when we saw the baby was really there we started going to baby boutiques. Well, a few of those boutiques had strollers in them that were very classy. So, I started researching strollers just to see what was out there. With the advice of a friend who is now seven months into her pregnancy, almost eight, we went ahead and bought the Baby Bargains book to find out more about what to buy and what not to buy, what's worth it and what isn't etc. So with the help of that book and several websites we came across a stroller we really liked. It can work off road and on, it can hold an infant car seat and you can switch it out for a toddler seat. It's really durable so it will last us through several kids (don't worry we aren't planning to create a Jones Colony). You flip the seat around so the baby faces you. It's a "lighter" weight than most and it isn't bulky. I didn't want cup holder's, etc. That's good for some people but not for me. We're Nalgene People.

Well, on Friday when we were at Babies R'Us buying a baby shower gift for that friend I was telling you about we decided to take a look at their strollers. It was there AND IT WAS ON SALE! This stroller is not the cheapest one in the books so after seeing the sale, I did some more research and we decided today to go back and get it because of the sale. I think we saved 36% by getting it today. (Which I think is awesome for me who never gets anything on sale... It's not that I don't want to it's just that it never works out.) We also had some baby money saved up already so we were able to get it with that. We have 90 days to return it so don't worry. If we change our minds we can still take it back.

Lastly I wanted you all to know that Bentley wasn't so keen on jumping in for me to go on a longer outside of the store test run. I think it's because he's mad at me for shaving him today. Wanna see those before and after pictures too? Here they are:

He's summer ready!

That's it for this blog.
Love you all!
