Tiny Jones

Tiny Jones is the name of the small person currently sucking all the energy out of me :) 

We found out we were pregnant on a Friday an hour before my friend Missy was supposed to come pick me up to go see Marly and me. Which by the way, never take a newly pregnant woman to see a movie about her favorite animal which dies in the end (you know you saw that coming!) I was a wreck for about 3 days until I got my composure together for work on Monday (about the baby, not the dog, though I was a wreck in the theater). Then Nathan and I kept it a secret for 5 weeks. We told a few more people and then kept it a secret for 4 more. That's the longest secret I've ever had to keep as well as the hardest. I was sick everyday, not throwing up (sorry for the gross details) but nauseated constantly. But hey, I lost 5 pounds over that time... I wasn't eating much. It was hard to not tell people why I was such a bummer to be a around. 

So back to that Friday. When Missy arrived I knew I needed to tell her, my friends Aundi and my mentor Kathy. I needed a few people to know who would know exactly what kind of emotion I was feeling and wouldn't express too much excitement to me yet encouragement and love. You see... we weren't "planing" on a Tiny Jones until maybe 2011/2012 but God had other plans. So I was in shock and those friends were able to come along side me as I processed this change. 

Nathan and I are now REALLY excited. We are having to work out all the details which I will say is stressful but we know that everything is in God's hands. This is his miracle and so we know He's going to provide us with the strength and the wisdom we need. 

A couple prayer requests. 

Please pray that I will safely cary our little one and deliver it into this world safely. Pray that he/she is healthy as can be! I must be honest... we are hoping he/she is at least half as cute as his/her cousins are. You all have to check out this months SHAPE magazine. Zion is a model! Crazy! 

You can also pray for us as we start visiting Daycare centers. We want to find the perfect place for Tiny Jones. Unfortunately, at this point in our lives it isn't wise for me to quit my job and stay home. We have a lot of school debt to get out of and we need to start saving for some of the things we hoped our child would have like a house to play in, a nice school to go to, ballet or soccer clubs, etc. 

We will continue to update our blog. I know you think I'm lying but seriously! We know that our lives can be boring sometimes but we also know that everyone will be interested in the little dude or betty (a surfer word for hot chick. ha) to come. 

For you Facebookers: I've decided to not put baby stuff on my facebook. I think it's weird because of how many random people I have on there... I hit accept on friend requests way too often. And, you never know when an old high school friend had a mental break and is now crazy... I don't want them knowing about everything. So, check this and comment here or e-mail us.
