It's true Harrison is two!

Harrison has now been two for almost two weeks! Unbelievable. We celebrated him twice, once as a small family and the second with our larger family, our Colorado friends. I always love a good excuse to have all of our friends in one place.

Let me first off apologize for the self-indulgent picture spree I'm about to put you through, if you chose to keep reading/looking.

This was his birthday outfit, 2 going on 15! I'm going to stick to shopping at Carters from here on out.

I love presents. I love giving them and receiving them and every time Harrison gets one I feel like I got one too. I love that about being a parent! Now I know why my mom used to buy me clothes before buying them for herself, it's actually fun! Here is Harrison opening one of his.

Note the bed head :) We took him straight from his nap to his presents which we called surprises.

This was his big present. We got him a train table. It serves two purposes. Toys for him and a 1/2 hour break for us :) Harrison enjoys playing in his room now on his own :) It often buys us another hour of sleep since he wakes up at 6 and we would prefer 7. We got it off of Craig's list and put a train mat on it from Ikea since the terrain pictures were faded. I was excited about our thrifty work :)

We read everyones cards together and he put his money in his piggy bank.

He was so excited to go to Yogurtland. It's his favorite place in the world besides an airport.

Now here are pictures of his party. Here is his party outfit.

This is the best picture out of 5 that Nathan took of us. It's hard to get a good picture out of a 2 year old. I don't know how Nathan's sister gets them from her boys all of the time.
Here is the birthday dessert table :)

Our porch was great for the party!

Nathan and I made these cupcake stands. We bought the fake silver plates at the Dollar Tree and the candle sticks and then spray painted and super glued them together.

We made the cupcakes and even the frosting! Nathan decorated them that morning. Such a different party then last year. Now with me staying home we've found more ways to be thrifty. We got everything from the Dollar Tree, made the cupcakes and all of the food! I think I enjoyed the party more because of the effort we put in except that most of the time I was running around the kitchen rather than getting a chance to chat with people. It was still really fun to celebrate with our friends!

Here is the buffet :) Yogurt and berries, English muffin egg sandwiches from the Pioneer Woman, egg muffins and coffee cake. Yes, we cooked it all. Yes, I'm cooking. I know. Unbelievable!
Nathan grabbed the camera right in time for Harrison's candle blowing moment. Everyone sang to him and he hid next to me, he was so overwhelmed. He's got such a cute cautious and bashful personality.

He loved his cupcakes! What child doesn't?

I'll write again later about some of the very fun things we enjoy about Harrison especially now that he's talking none stop!

Love, us!
