A New Year Begins

What a great end to 2010! We had the opportunity to travel out to CA to spend Christmas with Nathan's family. Between the cooking, blackjack tournament, and sampling all the local fare, we had a wonderful time. One of the highlights was the engagement of Nathan's sister, Carissa, to Seth Keshel. Seth flew out after Cristmas and spent a week with the family. We were blessed to have the opportunity to begin getting to know him...and now we are looking forward to flying out to Austin for the wedding in just over 3 weeks!

And the drive to CA? Yes, Harrison did incredible considering that by the time we returned to Denver, we had been in the car for over 40 hours. Here are a couple of pics from the trip.

Before traveling to CA, however, we had the opportunity to do a mini Christmas at our house for the three of us. It was fun beginning to start some of our own traditions. Harrison did pretty well!

Tuesday we had Harrison's 4 month doctor's appointment. He measured in at 14.5 pounds and 25 inches. There were no major concerns, so we were very encouraged!

Some of the developments in Harrison's life lately have included:
  • He is rolling over from his tummy to his back on a regular basis. Started that a week before Christmas.
  • On one occasion he made it about half way from his back to his stomach (we'll report more as we have further developments in this story)
  • He is very alert, following us around the room with his eyes.
  • Mommy and daddy are getting plenty of sleep, since Harrison goes to bed at 9:30pm and sleeps till 6am.
  • He is grabbing at anything within reach. We enjoy it now, but we are sure that the day is near when it won't be so cute (already grabbing mommy's hair).
Since we returned from Christmas, Libby and Nathan are back at work full time, so we now have a nanny to watch Harrison a few days each week. Lindsi is the daughter of one of our pastors, and has been doing a great job watching our little man Mondays an Wednesdays. Nathan has the flexibility to work from home, and Libby has been able to work from home two days a week as well, so we are all taking the team approach to taking care of Harrison.

We are excited for all that 2010 has in store, and would be honored if you'd join us in prayer for a couple of things:
  1. Wisdom in raising Harrison, helping him to get the rest, food, and activities he needs.
  2. Balance of work, church, family, personal growth, etc.
  3. The small group we will be starting through our church.
  4. Keeping marriage a priority amid the challenges and joys of parenthood.
Thank you!
